Renowned Toowoomba artist Kim Simmons loves immersing herself in Australian landscapes and painting incredible watercolours of her surroundings. She has a real talent for translating the beauty of our country onto canvas, creating eye-catching pieces of art that now hang on walls across the country.
Toowoomba Art Shed
A legendary Aussie artist needs a legendary Aussie shed, and we’re really stoked Kim came to Stockman after going through all the sheds Toowoomba has to offer. She wanted a solid, robust and comfortable studio shed in her garden to house her artwork, store all her painting gear and provide a quiet retreat to crack on with her creations. Here’s what we constructed:
She’s a beauty, right? Kim’s artistic touch is very evident on the final presentation of this Toowoomba shed, which blends in beautifully with her garden while being a real head turner at the same time.

The COLORBOND® Colour Scheme
The bold Manor Red of the trim creates a striking contrast with the earthy tons of the Basalt cladding. The dynamic edge of the rich red draws the eye in, while the more subdued Basalt has a grounding presence. Together, they create a strong and sophisticated look that makes an aesthetic statement worthy of an artist!
The Skillion Roof Patio
The skillion roof shed design allows for a split-height structure that includes the distinctive front patio. This is a great entry point to the shed that can be used for a quiet cup of tea in the afternoon, or a place to set up the easel in the fresh air. The enclosed space behind the patio expands on the internal functionality, and can be converted into a storage room, bathroom or office space. Whatever you need!
Roller Door Access
On the other end of the shed to the patio, the roller door gives access to another multi-purpose internal space. Internal partitions separate this from the rest of the interior, making it an ideal storage space that has easy access to the outside. We use quality Aussie doors from local manufacturer Steel-Line in our sheds, so this is going to be one that Kim can rely on for many years to come. All our doors are wind-locked too, so they won’t buckle in on you in a windy storm.
