Behind the Build: A Grand Shed for Preston Manor
We love a good rural shed build here at Stockman, but this one is something special. Preston Manor is a stunning wedding and function venue set in the lush rolling hills of the Toowoomba surrounds. It’s a breathtaking spot, and one that sits close to Dave’s heart as he watched his brother get married here a few moons ago.
They approached us to build a shed of epic proportions for them - a large, white structure that would balance elegance with practicality, good looks with toughness. It’s still a work in progress, but we got some shots of the shed going up that we can’t wait to share with you.
A Shed with a Purpose
Preston Manor plays host to numerous weddings, celebrations and other events each year. They needed a structure to expand these events into - one that reflected the premium nature of the venue, blending in with the existing buildings and providing a practical and multi-purpose space.
Our shed designers got to work, putting together a building that's both highly functional and visually appealing. From hosting weddings to storing catering gear, this weather-proof, secure building can handle it all!
Designed to Complement a Premium Venue
The beauty of the COLORBOND® palette is that you'll always find the right tone for your new shed to match your property. For this one, we went with Dover White, which gives it a fresh and polished look that suits the refined aesthetic of Preston Manor. Clean, crisp and eye-catching, it’s already turning heads!
COLORBOND® cladding doesn’t just look good, it’s tried and tested in Australian conditions to stand up to the harsh weather we get here. Whatever Toowoomba throws at this shed, it’ll handle it.
The cladding will retain it’s strength and aesthetics for many years to come. With a frame constructed from robust, local BlueScope Steel®, this is a shed that Preston Manor will make use of long into the future.
Access Points and Windows
We’ve gone all out on the roller doors in this shed design. The idea is to create an indoor-outdoor feel that will enhance events and allow for easy flow of foot traffic in and out of the venue. They’ll also be pretty handy when hauling in tables, chairs, audio equipment and decorations.
How good do those tall front windows look? Our windows supplier, Bradnams, has done a great job with them. They let the natural light flood in while enhancing the charming look of the building’s exterior and interior.
Soaring Height and Large Footprint
Large sheds are our specialty - the bigger they are, the more we love the challenge. This one is a beauty, soaring 5metres high into the sky and covering an expansive footprint of 12 metres wide and 20 metres long. That size brings with it endless possibilities and usage versatility. With plenty of room for staging, dining, dancing, or displays, the space can be customised to suit just about any occasion. Weddings, music, gigs, corporate events - the possibilities are endless.
