Ashmore Shed Part 2: American Barn Completed

A couple of months ago we introduced you to the American Barn shed we were building in Ashmore on the Gold Coast. The walls and roof were up, but it wasn’t quite the finished article. Now the work in progress has reached it’s conclusion, and we got our photographer to swing by and get a few photos, which we’ll share with you below. Let’s talk a bit more about American barns first.

American Barns - The Versatile Option

American Barns have three distinct bays - a tall central bay with a gable roof, flanked by a lean-to on either side. This makes them a popular rural or semi-rural option, because they offer masses of space in much the same way a triple garage would. They have a height advantage though, thanks to the tall roof of the central bay, which is appealing to owners of large machinery requiring secure storage.

The attraction isn’t limited to rural shed owners. American barns are a striking addition to urban landscapes, looking good in the suburbs and bringing a high degree of functionality to property owners. Use them as a garage or workshop, or for extra storage and living space.
